Many types of chronic pain have been identified, however many with chronic pain do not have a clinical diagnosis from their doctor. Scar tissue is frequently the culprit in this un-diagnosed pain. Repetitive motion, injury an surgery can result in the formation of scar tissue. Since there are no blood vessels that nourish this fibrotic tissue, it dies, becoming rigid and inflexible, impinging nerves and impairing normal movement.
The body can sustain a spinal injury from one big trauma (such as an auto accident) or by the buildup of many small traumas (such as long term unbalanced posture from working on a computer, lifting, or other activity). Restoring normal motion and allowing the body to first heal, and then move differently, is the most effective treatment.

I don't normally write reviews, but was so impressed by first visit to Dr. Rode's office that I felt compelled to write this. His knowledge, demeanor, and treatments were significantly superior to four chiropractors I've seen in the past. Now I know who to call the next time my back and neck are out of whack.

Very good Doctor, Highly knowledgeable chiropractor. Very easy to get an appointment on the same day and he is very practical and very high standard treatment. I have received very good treatment from Dr. Rode for my spinal cord adjustment and with one sitting, I was able to walk properly and within a week everything settled down properly and no more pain at all.

Dr. Rode is the best chiropractor I ever met. He is very knowledgeable and professional. First time I ve seen him in 2015 and had prescribtion to wear the foot insole due to the slight length difference in my legs. This year I ve decided to have my yearly check up and went to La Jolla with my friend to see a chiropractor there. They had the exam, X ray and adjustments for very cheap, so I found it to be a good deal.
After they took my X ray, I found out that my neck lost its curve and I had my middle and lower back spine bones misalignes. Those chiropractors created a plan that would cost me 5K a year to fix my neck and back within 89 visits. But they said if I can't afford it I can come for 6 month and pay 2.5 K.I was very surprised and felt like I need the second opinion.
Nobody likes to be ripped off, right? I remembered that when I used to live in Poway I was visiting Dr. Rode and decided to go back to him and had my X ray done again. This wonderful chiropractor said that I dont need those expensive adjustments, but I need to wear an insole on my right foot and not to wear the heavy purse on my right shoulder to fix my back problems.
And for my neck he ordered a tool, that I have to use everyday for 30 minutes to bring my curve back. That simple. I was happy to find out the solution was so easy and affordable. So if you have your chiropractor trying to push you a bill with thouthands of dollars to fix minor problem or scare you that you even might need a surgery, please visit Dr. Rode! He is the most trustworthy, experienced and educated chiropractor out there. And he is also a Vegan like me:

Dr Rode was extremely helpful. A longtime lower back injury flared up while I was visiting family in Poway. Dr Rode performed a very thorough diagnosis and helped me realize the source of my injury and pain that other doctors and chiropractors had missed. After visiting him several times for adjustments, my back felt much better. Unlike other chiropractors I had seen in the past, Dr Rode took time to work on me.
He performed electro stimulation and massage and was with me for over half an hour each visit. Most other chiropractors I have seen would spend less than five minutes with me to do a quick adjustment. I would highly recommend his services and I will be dropping into his office every time I come to town.

Nice doctor, nice clean and well decorated office, thorough treatment and understanding of why you may be experiencing pain. X-rays are a must in proper treatment of the spine, back, neck. I wanted a no crack doctor and fortunately. Dr. Rode has multiple treatment options to avoid that. He really takes time with his patients and truly wants to help relieve your pain. Highly recommend this doctor.

I am really happy with the treatment I've received from Dr. Rode. I played volleyball in college and recently took it up again. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing a lot of neck and shoulder pain and numbness down my arm. One of my friends suggested that I see a chiropractor. I had never been to one before so I was unsure of what was involved.
I have tried acupuncture in the past but not chiropractic. I was having a flare up that was really bothering me and it was starting to affect my performance on the court not to mention everyday activities like driving so I decided to give it a try. My friend suggested Rode Chiropractic. Dr. Rode is really nice and knowledgeable and immediately put me at ease.

I was suffering from sciatica after lifting a large box in the garage. I thought it would go away but two weeks later it was still there and getting worse. I was unable to play golf which living in SD is one of my passions. This was really affecting me. A friend from my church recommended that I see his chiropractor who helped him out with his neck pain and headaches after a car accident.
So I visited Dr. Rode and he did a great job. After seeing him for a series of visits my sciatica is completely gone and I think my golf game has improved as well. I feel more limber and flexible. Thanks Dr. Rode for helping me to get back on the golf course again.

Dr. Rode is an great chiropractor. I was suffering from neck pain for a long time. This neck pain got worse so that I was having numbness and tingling going down my arm to my wrist constantly. This was really starting to affect my life. A neighbor of mine is a patient of Dr. Rode's and has had great results suggested that I see him. I never had been to a chiropractor and didn't know what to expect. Dr. Rode found out about my problems took some x-rays of my neck.
He explained what was causing my problems and what needed to be done. After a course of visits my neck pain is gone and the numbness down my arm is completely gone. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Doctor Rode is a great chiropractor. I have been seeing him for several years now. I originally saw him for low back pain. He helped me with that and I have been seeing him for periodically ever since. Most recently I woke up with neck pain and Dr. Rode explained that I shouldn't sleep on my stomach because that will cause neck pain. So after several adjustments my neck pain is gone and I now sleep on my back. Thanks again Dr Rode for your help.

Every time I am in San Diego I go see Doctor Rode and get an awesome adjustment, that really helps my sciatica and loosens up my neck. I really like the neck adjustments in the seated position. It is more comfortable than what my previous t chiropractor used to do. The motorized table really stretches my back out good and helps my tight low back feel better longer.
