Dr. Zandra Rolon Amato established Z Chiropractic in 1990 to serve the Santa Cruz County community. Frequently referred to as Dr. Z by her patients, Dr. Amato is a fully accredited Doctor of Chiropractic, a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) certified by the California Division of Workers' Compensation, and a holistic wellness consultant.

Services
Dr. Z is a state-certified Qualified Medical Evaluator. She is thoroughly familiar with the requisite processes and regularly performs evaluations in disputed workers' compensation cases. Her evaluations and reports are fair, thorough and timely. The following information is presented as a highlight of what is involved in this service.
Your first office visit requires only a little more than hour of your time. A comprehensive consultation followed by a full examination will be performed. Dr. Z will explain the results of your examination and recommend a treatment plan to address your issues. Please arrive ten to 15 minutes before the scheduled time of your first visit so that we may collect your health history and a description of your symptoms.
Notice to our Medicare patients: Medicare does not cover the first office visit so we will collect $150 and bill Medicare for your follow-up your visits. We also offer "Pre-Paid Family Packages" to help patients and their families afford chiropractic care. A service charge of $20.00 will be applied to your account if a personal check is returned to us from your bank. There is a $25 missed appointment fee if we do not receive a call within 24 hours of your scheduled time.

Dr. Z is amazing, I simply love her. I saw a chiropractor once before and did not like the feeling of being twisted and cracked. Dr. Z uses the activator method for alignment which is much more gentle. More importantly, Dr. Z explains everything as she goes. I found it so helpful and fascinating to learn about body mechanics, what she is looking for, what my body alignment and flexibility tells her, how my daily and overall lifestyle habits affect how my body feels and works.
I have learned so much in just a few visits! I'm seeing Dr. Z for hip and shoulder pain. The in-office treatments are very helpful, and she has also given me some guidelines to follow at home. The exercises are easy, practical, and common sense - which makes it more likely that I'll do them and stick to it. I also understand *why* the exercises are important, with the overall goal of becoming pain-free and stronger. Highly recommended!

I was in an accident almost 4 weeks ago and remembered how Dr. Z put me back on my feet on my first accident in 1997 with a motorcycle; this time in only 4 sessions I noticed a huge improvement of energy and movement and appreciated her being able to squeeze me in quickly to her tight schedule. Her bedside manner along with a warm professionalism gave me both more confidence that I'd recuperate quickly as well as solid, pertinent post-physical therapy advice and exercises. Dr. Z wears many heats and is much more than a typical chiropractor.
Also I loved her office and vibe-- everyone there is receptive and positive-- I highly recommended Dr. Zandra before yelp existed, and now that it does I'd give her a second round of props to reach even more patients needing truly personal and professional care. Thanks to you, Dr. Z, that I found you years back and that you are still in the community serving it so well and for so long!
