Yoga-Asana is the third of the eight limbs of yoga as described by the ancient sage patanjali. Asana is the practice of performing a sequence of postures, intended to enhance the health of the body, mind and spirit. In each class the sequencing of postures changes as does the theme or focus as well as the pace.
Yoga is a powerful self- healing practice that when done mindfully, can be restorative, rehabilitative and meditative. It is a practice that asks us to remain silent, breathe and move. In that place we learn to be more present, we become more aware of our physical bodies. We become more aware of our thoughts and the space between thoughts.
If done mindfully, yoga can be a restorative, rehabilitative and meditative practice. The practice of yoga-asana is one that assists us in reaching a higher level of wellness and balance. It also teaches us body awareness and how to be in a more natural state of alignment. As we come into a more balanced state, we begin to notice effortlessness in our daily postures, easefulness in our breathing, we can focus more easily and our energy flows more evenly.Stay connected to the breath, the mind will wander, keep coming back to the present moment.

This amazing place is indeed, like its name. a center for healing. I have been going to Makaya's yoga class for over 10 years, once a week but that is what made a difference for my back and well-being. I started doing body work with Dr. Makaya Roma on a regular basis, once a month.no matter what! BEST decision and money spend! No more."ouch I threw my back out " I am so thankful for Makaya and her knowledge, THANK YOU!

By far my favorite yoga center, with the most experienced helpful compassionate teachers. The way the space is decorated gives off extremely calming energy, and is very beautifully organised.

Makaya's yoga is so helpful. As a chiropractor, she knows how to keep us all in alignment. Her studio is large, comfortable and she's a lovely person to boot! I highly recommend her.

Wonderful! Dr Roma is amazing, and really focused on healing the body. I'm pleased to have found this place - I've had chronic problems with my lower back for many years, she was very through, professional, and sent me home with exercises and stretches to help alleviate my muscle issues from home. Thank you!

Makiya Roma is the best. She has the most intuitive hands and makes you feel better about life. I have been going to her on and off since I was in grade school, and I'm still saying she's the best.

This is the best massage in Santa Cruz County. I have been getting bodywork done there by the owner, Makaya Roma for a couple of years now, and she has greatly improved my upper, lower back issues as well as some tendinitis in my arm. Her background in physical therapy is apparent-her work creates lasting changes and I am never, ever sore afterwards. Makaya helped me recover quickly from whiplash and now I see her regularly for tune-ups.

She is also a chiropractor and there is no hard sell on weekly adjustments like other chiropractors do. No BS and no guilt. Makaya is very down-to earth and will meet you where you are. The Center is spacious, tranquil and I always feel renewed after a session there. The rates are comparable even though they offer so much more than massage. If you want a gentle easy yoga class try hers. I fully recommended gifting yourself to a visit there!

Went to a drop-in Yoga class two Saturdays back in the morning and it was a great experience! The class was intermediate but instructor took time to show modifications for beginners. I would recommend it.

I consider myself somewhat of a "massage connoisseur" (pretentious, maybe) because I live such a high stress lifestyle, so trust me when I say that The Center for Healing is a place anyone must frequent. The deep tissue massages I have received are possibly the greatest thing on earth and have helped me come close to utter enlightenment.
