Harrisburg chiropractic patients aren't interested in being treated as "just another spine." The Harrisburg, Lemoyne, Camp Hill and New Cumberland area chiropractors who take the time to provide specific, personalized care for each patient can be found at Becker Chiropractic. As graduates of Palmer College of Chiropractic, both Dr. Tom Becker and Dr. Brian Becker believe that chiropractic care combined with healthy lifestyle choices results in less pain, greater function and a better quality of life.
Services
Our approach is simple. We believe that health is amongst our most valuable possessions. And while we generally meet people after they've lost their health, our commitment is two-fold. We're committed to teaching our patients that true health is a journey, not a destination. Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of ongoing chiropractic care.
Our primary goal as chiropractors is to decrease our patient's pain and discomfort while improving their ability to achieve their daily activities. Symptoms such as pain and loss of function are usually proceeded by subtle, yet important clues. Early recognition of these warning signs are vital to recovering within the shortest amount of time.
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience. Think of an adjustment as "tuning" a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.
If you've ever gone to a social event where you didn't know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home. Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it's important that our relationship can go the distance.

I have no idea how this place has such good reviews. I have been struggling with back pain for quite some time and have tried many remedies and lifestyle changes to accommodate. I came here a few months ago for the first time on the suggestion of a co-worker. I was unhappily greeted to an overwhelmed reception area. I was finally led to a private room where a lady asked me a few questions about my pain, and then was channeled to a room of about 12 massage chairs.
After 15 minutes in the uncomfortable and useless chair, I was then channeled into another packed reception area. From there, I was finally, and briefly seen by Dr. Tom, who was pleasant and helpful. My issue is this: the initial and every other visit was this strange, conveyor belt approach with no privacy and after 5 visits with no change in symptoms, no one considered x-rays.
I brought this up, and was told they don't want to do this due to holistic reasons. This seems like a pretty big red flag, especially when considering that they also have not managed to properly bill insurance and it seems like that is an inconvenience for them. I am not impressed or happy with the "care" that I received, and caution anyone to going here, especially if you have severe and chronic issues.
The workers and practitioners were pleasant, but the fact that x-rays and modern medical savvy is not valued, plus the billing issues is deeply concerning. I will try a well reviewed and legitimate physical therapist next.

One word excellent. I was out of town and my back and neck was out so I called here and they took me right in the following day. After first adjusting it helped tremendously and went back two days later to get another adjustment before hitting the road. What a difference in riding. I wished I lived closer to this practice. Thanks for everything.

Went for my first visit to this particular office yesterday. Pros: Really good adjustment and I feel great. I was examined thoroughly before my adjustment for things like posture, leg length, positional discomfort, etc., so I felt confident that they had plenty of information about my body before going in. Lovely front desk staff. Cons: All of the things listed by other negative reviews: lack of privacy, being crammed into a room before and after visits packed to the gills with people using massage chairs, ZERO mask use (patients and staff alike). Here's the cherry on top: when I asked Dr.
Mark if he could pull up his mask (I requested he use one) to cover his nose, he refused, saying it would give him problems. Then, I asked if I could inquire about his vaccination status. I've asked every single doctor I've seen this question, as I want to protect my family as thoroughly as possible against COVID, and I've gotten nothing but polite answers, even if they declined to disclose it. His answer, verbatim: "You can, but it's none of your business." TL;DR Will not be back.

I want to start off by saying that everyone at the office was very friendly and knowledgeable. However, as a first time patient, my experience was very disappointing and concerning. There is zero privacy first off. There is a partitioned wall and a seated crowd waiting in line. You are treated as a number. It was like a factory. I was never examined by the doctor or asked any questions.
I was adjusted for maybe 1.5 minutes total. I have been in chronic pain for many years and was hopeful to come here. However, I had no chance to ask my questions because of the lack of privacy and push to get through the line of people. I asked at checkout if this setup is "normal." I was told it was because of malpractice claims of inappropriate touching that has been said against chiropractors.
This was concerning. I was told there is a private room (you know, like the kind for a normal doctor visit), but that I would have to see if it's available when I arrived for my next appointment. Rather than having the opportunity to ask the dr my questions at my appointment, I was offered to leave a message with the checkout desk and he could call me.
I appreciate the gesture, but that is not reasonable. Before you're seen by the doctor, you sit in a massage chair for 15 mins. Though the idea seemed really nice, it was incredibly painful and I was unable to turn down the pressure. My spine felt bruised for several days after. But what really disappointed me and even disgusted me was the lack of sanitation!
In between patients there was ZERO sanitation of the beds! There was also minimal hand sanitizing between patients too. Not proper washing like all healthcare practitioners must do. This is not acceptable! I get that not all people are concerned with germs, but some are, and some are immunocompromised. Let alone we're in a peak season of COVID. There were zero questions asked about COVID symptoms, etc.
I did not see any staff member wear a mask or respect social distancing either. We were squished into the waiting room with 12 others side by side waiting our turn. I felt like a number. A source of money. Not a patient who had any time to be heard or examined. I pay a large amount out of pocket for healthcare and this was incredibly upsetting. I know I sound like a total complainer, but I think potential new patients deserve to know exactly what to expect.

While at my appointment, Dr. Becker thought it was appropriate to comment on my body and tell me what a "nice runner/yoga" body I have. It made me feel very uncomfortable as I don't think it's professional for a male doctor to be commenting about my or anyone's body in any way other than what is needed for an alignment. At the end of my session, after telling me I had nice eyes and the comment on my body, he offered me a lollipop.
That part really creeped me out. I reported this to the front office and have not heard anything since, leading me to believe this is deemed okay at this practice. I hope this message is seen and heard, what happened was not okay and in the future I hope it doesn't happen again to another young woman.

My wife and I have been coming to Becker Chiropractic for a year now. Dr. Becker is an amazing doctor. No matter where my pain is he can fix it in a jiffy. He's extremely friendly and so full of positive energy. My wife and I love him. We have also seen Dr. Mark too who is also awesome. We simply can't say enough about the rest of the staff at Becker Chiropractic. They are always welcoming, friendly, and just amazing. The office is always super clean and just comforting. We are definitely patients for life.

Becker Chiropractics #1 Choice! The knowledge, care, techniques, & motions they use help us live a lot more comfortable. Dr. Brian Becker alleviated my unbearable pressure/pain in my neck when I was injured. The range of motion in my neck returned to normal as well as my posture! We are all tough on our bodies but at least we have the right Professionals that can help. First Class all the way! Thank You Becker Chiropractic!

I cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Tom & Miss. Kay. Walking in I am warmly greeted by Miss Kay who is always upbeat and fun to talk too, she makes me feel Welcome. Very clean office. They wipe down in between patients, and everyone is courteous to wipe down their massage chairs. This is the first chiropractor I've ever seen in my whole life and have been going for the past couple of months.
My quality of life has changed so much with the help of Dr. Tom like my energy levels, my headaches, my pain, and definitely not having to get as many back injections has been amazing. I enjoy how he explains everything as he goes along and let's you know what causes what to hurt. It's a neat experience to learn. I am so thankful for everyone who recommended this office to me because without it I'd be in so much pain. Thank you for everything!
