Services
We start with a thorough history of the complaint or problem area and ask questions about where, when and how, and what makes it better or worse. We try to gather as much information from the patient, as much as they feel that is important to know about them, their condition and where it began. Secondly, we do an examination that is relevant and pertinent to the history information.
When you come into our office we will call your insurance carrier to verify your coverage for chiropractic and massage therapy, however, we also encourage you to call your insurance company. Keep in mind the information provided by your insurance provider is only a "Quotation of benefits, not a guarantee of coverage."
Chiropractic care is the hands on healing art that deals with spinal correction and restoration. We discover, identify or diagnose problems and know how to improve or correct those problems. This is the definition of what a chiropractor does. It is simply helping the body function like it is designed to.
We have two convenient locations to serve you located on North Nevada and North Monroe Street in Spokane. We have multiple Chiropractors and Massage Therapists focusing on Pain Relief, Injury Recovery, Rehabilitation, Wellness Care and Nutrition. They also provide a range of individual specialties including: Neurology and Orthopedics. Our Chiropractors and Massage Therapists work hand-in-hand to provide optimal results for most musculoskeletal conditions, acute or chronic.
From a personal history of back injury in high school football and eventual chiropractic care, Dr. Houk was inspired to become a chiropractor. His mission is to help people with spine problems like himself. Without drugs, without surgery, he aims to heal the spine to function like it is designed to.

I've been to several chiropractic offices and this one by far is the absolute best! The receptionists are all super sweet and the massage therapists and chiropractors have wonderful bedside manner. Even the ones I'm not a patient of say hi and seem to really love what they do. I always look forward to my massages with Bryce because I always leave with so much less pain.
Usually I don't even realize how much I'm hurting until after and I feel so much better. This office is my favorite, I hate going to drs, or waiting, but they are always on top of everything they do, I never have to wait, and like I said before they have great bedside manner. If only I could make every drs office as welcoming as theirs.

It was amazing. I got in fast, they were very kind. They respected me and helped me understand anything I didn't understand. I am 68 years old and forget things sometimes. They were patient with me and addressed everything. They made it easy for me to be seen. I highly recommend Houk Chiropractor. Thanks for listening.

Well I'm not real pleased with my appointment. I feel a little bad for complaining, but I was a first time patient, and this was the first place I found that was open. So I went. $150 later and 20 minutes with a chiropractor and my back wasn't better. For a minute it felt a "little" better, but by the time I walked the 100 feet to my vehicle I had a pretty good idea that I wasn't going to be able to work.
About a half hour later at work, and I had to leave work. Yes, I was in a hurry to get back to work, yes I was tense which probably made it so my lower back wouldn't crack like I needed it to. It would have been nice, after failing to get a crack, for them to tell me to sit somewhere and apply an ice pack for 20 minutes, then some heat for 20 minutes and they'd give it another crack at it. Pun intended.
But no, I was told to go home, apply cold and hot for aforementioned time, and come back tomorrow or the next day. You know, for $50 if I remember right (think I do). They wanted the other appointment and extra money, not so much my back fixed. Maybe they do want my back fixed, but literally I could have sat there another hour to relax, cool and heat my back, and taken another maybe 10 minutes of their actual personnel (not a typo) time.
And probably gone back to work. Or gone back to work the next day without needing to try a different chiropractor. Which I did, and had better luck at. Also, I felt like the other place helped me know more about my back issues. I'll review that place next (central chiropractic and massage)
