Acupuncture involves the placement of hair-thin metal filaments at specific points just below the skin's surface to quiet the nervous system. This opens energetic pathways of circulation throughout the body which may be blocked due to illness or injury. The free-flow of this natural circulation enhances the body's natural tendency and ability to heal itself.

Where do I begin! Dr. Abby is a miracle worker. I had been to many many many chiropractors, physical therapists and other sports doctors for my hip and could never get relief. I was in constant pain and spending Hundreds of dollars for some relief. Many stretches and remedies and nothing helped for many years. My daughter had gone to dr. Abby for a sports related injury so I thought why not! She's amazing.
Her entire staff is amazing. And her prices are so reasonable. She knows so much about the body and understands how things work and how everyone is different - since then I have referred many people to her and they have all raved about her too. Happy to say that I can walk with no pain and since coming to her over the years every time I visit her I feel better and taller! Ha! Thank you Dr. Abby!

I've been to several different chiropractors in my life, and Dr Abby is MUCH more than a chiropractor. I would describe her as a healer. I've been seeing her off and on for the better part of 20 years. Typically I will see her when I'm feeling a prolonged pain in my neck or back that just won't go away. After 3 or 4 visits I'm back to normal and feeling good.
A few years back she literally saved my shoulder, when she diagnosed me with a potential torn rotator cuff. I had been seeing a licensed physical therapist for a another reason and asked them to examine my shoulder. After manipulating it in a few different directions, he determined that it could be healed with physical therapy. I told him my chiropractor had recommended that I get an MRI.
He inferred that chiropractors really aren't doctors, and saw no reason for why I should have an MRI. When I did get the MRI, it revealed a massive tear in my rotator duff with a torn bicep tendon. Moreover, my orthopedic surgeon informed me that if I procrastinated on surgery to repair it, it might be irreparable. Although Dr Abby might not be a medical doctor, she understands human anatomy pretty well.
Maybe because she was a former athlete and has a genuine passion for her work. If you have any joint issues, I would recommend getting her opinion before moving forward with a surgical procedure. She also has a great massage therapist that works for her named Sergio. If you need deep tissue therapy to help break up post surgery scar tissue, or just to get the knots out of your back muscles, he's the guy you want to see.

I am SO grateful to dear Dr Abby - and all of her amazing team. Everybody does work excellent in her office, its like a clockwork, only also very friendly - and Dr Abby is just the best chiropractor I ever had visited (and I did go to many of them!). Julian, one of her masseurs - is my absolutely favorite (but all others are also very very good!).
Thanks for Dr Abby and Julian, my health had improved significantly, and continues to do so. I am hoping to be fully (95%) back to normal (I couldn't walk in November'17 at all, when I started seeing Dr Abby, - and now I am up to 2 miles(!). THANK YOU - AND BEST OF LUCK!

The team at this place is wonderful. I pinched a nerve in my neck today and called around 3:30 to schedule an appointment after 5 pm when I got off work. No problem, a 5:45 or 6:15 available. The wait was a little bit but I understand why. They are really taking time with you. This was apparent as I was getting treated. Yolanda (hopefully I got that right) set me up with heat pads and made sure I was comfortable.
Then Linda came in and gently kneaded the knots out of my neck and shoulders, and was really kindhearted; she talked me through what she was doing, and was soothing when I started CRYING because I was just so exhausted from feeling pain all day. I was embarrassed. When Dr Abby came in, she was even more thoughtful. She empathized with me and rubbed my back like a friend or like Mom would, to console me, and I just recognized she genuinely felt bad for me and cared.
She took SERIOUS time to make sure I left feeling better. No rushing through at all, I can't say it enough, just great beside manner - also I observed she knew what she was doing to efficiently target exactly what I needed. I'm going to my regular chiropractor tomorrow for a follow up (great side note: when I mentioned my regular guy, she didn't try and sell me on her business, she was like, just call if you ever need to.), but I absolutely had to write a yelp review and give props to this practice.

(Just left the office, first visit) My partner experienced a sports injury, and we were immediately referred to Dr. Irwin, as we understood that this is one of her specialities. We were able to get in quickly, as they were wonderfully compassionate and accommodating. Dr. Irwin is kind, warm, generous with heart and with her knowledge. as she was explaining the specifics about the anatomy she was checking, what various techniques she was going to use before doing it. and used phrases like "I'm going to do some 'gentle' work on it next." This help ease my partners nerves, especially while laying there in pain.
We left there with great exam results, a calm relief. a relaxed, thorough and informative, warm experience overall. I'm looking forward to future appointments for myself, and my partner. Keep you all updated! :)

I've been coming here a long time because Dr. Abby and the In Line crew are truly awesome. Abby Irwin and her wonderful staff help me with ongoing issues related to computer use, and also treated my whiplash after a car accident a few years back. Every single person at this practice is friendly, welcoming, and very good at what they do. They really care about their patients. The massage therapists are also amazing: I would tell you that Susan is pure magic, but I'm keeping that to myself so you don't book up all her appointments.

I purchased a Yelp deal ($150 voucher for $79) back in December 2012. I was experiencing excruciating lower back pain and couldn't walk or stand without feeling pain. I needed help to get it fixed and searched Yelp for chiropractors. In Line Chiropractic had good reviews, was close to home, and offered a deal so I chose it. I was able to schedule an appointment early in the weekday with Dr. Tran.
Over the weekend my back got much better, I only felt a slight pain. I kept my appointment and went to the office, filled out patient forms, and Dr. Tran adjusted my body. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and what might have caused the pain. Nice guy. The one thing I did not like and feel should have been disclosed upfront was that there would be a fee for the follow up appointment.
I thought it was going to be a simple check in to make sure everything was fine, but it wasn't because there was a massage, too. I guess this is their way of showing the services they offer while getting more money from new patients. I declined the massage since I don't like being touched. I waited for Dr. Abby to finish with other patients and when she was available, she checked my back and gave me a few exercise tips then I went to the front.
The receptionist was probably new because when she asked me about payment I told her this was a follow up and I used a Yelp deal for my initial appointment. We both thought I was good to go so I left. Then about a block away I received a phone call from the receptionist that I was supposed to pay and asked me to come back. I did since that's the right thing to do and paid the $50 fee (that's with a student discount).
Being in the office felt awkward because it seemed like the receptionist got in trouble for letting me leave. If I had known there would be an additional fee for the follow up I wouldn't have scheduled the appointment because I was pretty much back to 100% after my adjustment with Dr. Tran. It's been almost two years now and my back feels fine, glad I haven't had to return!

I've been going to Inline Chiropractic for 5 years--not sure why Yelp thinks they are in East Oakland as the office is right across the street from Lake Meritt and that's for sure not East Oakland. I've seen Dr Abigail Irwin for various sports injuries as well as the affects of osteoarthritis and I've found her to be thorough and well-informed on matters of health.
Her adjustments are gentle but effective. I've also had massage with several different therapists in her office and found each to be very good. The office staff members are always helpful and friendly, my insurance gets billed correctly and it all works. Two thumbs up!

I sent my husband to Dr. Irwin for care of his extremely messed up spine. In just about a dozen sessions, she has been able to sort him out, so he no longer has pain all the time. His back was a big challenge, and through weekly adjustments, massage and some orthopedic accessories she has been able to help him heal. Very pleased!

Dr Abby Irwin saw me after I was in a rear end accident. She got me right in the next day and advised me over the phone what to do until I could see her. She is very professional with a very supportive bedside manner. She listens without rushing you and addresses all your body issues throughly every time you are in her office. She worked with my nightmarish insurance with great patience. But most importantly she helped me to fully heal, she is an excellent body worker.

Dr. Abby is wonderful. Down-to-earth, easy to talk with and be with as a person and doctor, and really did whatever was needed to help me with an injury, and as an athletic woman herself, also really understood how desperate I felt to begin using my body again for exercise, which was great. Appts. were easy to book, and the reception friendly and helpful. I've since referred 4 or 5 ppl there and will go back myself when I need support healing from whatever debacle my self gets into from not having learned to stop pushing my body beyond it's limits. Thanks Abby!

I scooped up the Living Social deal for a 50-min massage, and I was soooo happy to finally de-stress on my spring break. My massage therapist, Jack, took time to listen to what needed to get worked out. My massage was overall relaxing. I have never had a full conversation throughout an entire massage session, so that was a different experience for me- definitely appreciated not having those awkward silences, but I would have liked to have focused mentally a bit more on the massage. Afterwards, Jack showed me some stretches to do to try and alleviate tension.
If you are looking for a super duper relaxing spa environment for a massage, this is not the place. It seems like the most important focus is working out those muscle kinks, and not all of the aromatherapy hoo-ha and quiet bamboo reed music. (I'm okay with that!) The true test- how my back will feel in 4 days from now when I return back to the front lines, aka my classroom.

I found a very sweet deal from Living Social on this place and decided to give it a try since I injured my knee. Scheduling my appointment was very fast and easy. Once I went inside I was helped right away and seated in the waiting room. As I was filling out paperwork i noticed that every patient that came in was addressed kindly and by name. I remember thinking to myself that they really take their time to get to know their customers which is great.
I saw Dr. Prusso and he was wonderful! He was very funny and professional. My leg was very tense and I had a hard time relaxing my leg muscles but Dr. Prusso took his time and worked with me. I am very pleased with my visit I would recommend this place to anyone.

I've just had my first session at Inline, and I was very impressed. I've seen at least 7 different chiropractors in my life, some good, some bad. Dr. Irwin is definitely very good. She takes lots of time to observe and treat, and had lots of good insights. She has a drop table which also moves side to side. I actually got a lot of relief of low back pain from the combination of techniques she used. she is nice, friendly, and, thankfully, did not try to pressure me into coming a lot, or signing up for a course of treatment, (which I have been really burned by with other chiropractors.) Definitely one of the more patient, thorough chiropractors I have been to. Update: She did start pressuring me to "measure" my antioxidant levels, and the second visit no longer included the upscale moving table. Did not return after 3rd visit.

I have been going to In Line for about (I believe)15 years now and I love them. I have seen all the chiropractors that have been there and they all have been excellent. Right now I see Dr. G and she is great. She's easy going, very personable and able to help with all my various injuries and neck problems. I leave feeling like she cares about me personally and how I am doing in my life overall. I would definitely recommend her and In Line to anyone.

I have now been a patient of Dr. G's for over a year now. I can't say enough good things about this chiropractor. She's totally down to earth and very knowledgeable. I love her approach of overall health and "back cracking". Dr. G motivates me to do the right things for my body. I've sent a few pregnant friends over to the office and they've had great results too! Friendly office staff and a great doc. Go see Dr. G!

I have been seeing Dr. Abby Irwin on and off for several years, as I live nearby their office. I have longstanding issues with lower back pain, due to mild disc herniation. Visits to the office are a positive experience. The routine begins with a massage treatment for about 15 minutes, often followed by placement of a warm compress on the affected area.
This is nice to loosen the muscles and cause relaxation. Then Dr. Irwin comes and performs adjustments. With me, she mostly uses conventional chiropractic methods (i.e., back cracking) and I feel safe and secure in her hands. Her rapport (i.e., "bedside manner") with me is very good - very down to earth and straightforward. She usually also makes suggestions and tips during the session for exercises to perform. Dr. Irwin's clients range from serious athletes to regular Joe's like myself.
The other office staff are courteous and professional. There are never any pressure tactics to keep coming back for more treatments. The rates are standard amount for the services provided.
