Since 2019 Ive had 3 herniated discs in my lumbar spine. Ive tried multiple treatments in over 13 months of being hurt. Nothing seemed to work for me at all. I was 2 days away from getting surgery when I came across dr. Karr. I decided to give it one more shot. Best decision i made. My pain went from a 9 to a 4 in a matter of 2 months and now i feel great. Highly recommend it here.

Big thank you Dr. Karr for the wonderful treatment given to me by your office after my cycling accident. As cycling has been a serious passion of mine for the past three decades. Getting back on my bike was my priority and the sooner the better. Dr. Karr's recommendation for the spinal decompression was the best choice given the intense lower back pain that I was feeling.
Two visits a week and several weeks later I am happy to say that I'm back on my bike and have NO lower back pain which means the world to me. For those concerned with Covid-19. The entire staff takes every precaution to insure a clean, healthy and safe environment between each patient. The care given to me by Dr. Karr and his staff was simply outstanding. Thank you again! Dr Karr and dr Ortiz are great at what they do. When I first got injured I called their office manager right away, they've helped me with the pain in my wrist and hand. They always have different treatments to help with any pain you're having. Would definitely recommend this office to anyone who is thinking of going to a chiropractor or who have gone to other doctors with no luck.
They are very supportive and will do their very best to help all their patients. 10 out of 10 would very likely go back. I thank them in helping me with recovery, after my accident I was in a lot of pain and they listened and helped and little by little I'm feeling better.

This review is long overdue, but everyone at West LA Chiropractic is amazing. They are extremely friendly, respectful and caring for the physical and emotional distress that an injury carries with an individual. Dr. Karr always treated my husband and I with a sincere interest in helping us get better and inspiring us to achieve an overall healthier approach to living. At the end of our treatments, we felt like we were leaving the office of a friend and the same feelings extended to everyone working in the office.

I had never seen a chiropractor before, have done physical therapy though, but both doctors here are great and have help me with my back pain and arthritis pain. I started working for Dr Karr a while ago and I do not regret it, the staff is so helpful and very supportive. After my accident I contacted my manager Betty immediately and they put me on the schedule the next day. Would recommend to anyone looking for a chiropractor.

Been suffering from really bad headaches and ongoing chronic sciatica for long time. MRI showed severe disc herniations. Visited different orthopedists over the years without answers or effective relief. Finally referred to Dr. Karr at West LA Chiropractic and After my first visit I experienced immediate relief of the headaches and approximately 50% alleviation of the radiating lower back pain and sciatica.
The combination of Chiropractic care, physiotherapy and DRX spinal decompression therapy have been extremely effective. I have my life back. Thank you Dr. Karr and West LA chiropractic

I've been experiencing back pain for about 2 weeks now. Was possibly from sleeping on my stomach lately. I figured an alignment would maybe help. After checking reviews, I've decided to give WLC a shot. Needless to say, I didn't have to try another spot. I was able to make an appointment online within minutes. They were also COVID friendly.
I was adjusted quickly. I was sore the next day as I was told would be, but the following day the pain in the center of my back was gone. They suggested to maintain my visits. Which I am : They've definitely gained my trust. I suggest you give them a chance too.

I met with Dr. Karr for an initial visit for an evaluation of lumber spine / spinal stenosis / facet problems (September 2020). My experience with Dr. Karr was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Here are the reasons: 1. His office is small, and the waiting room is small. His office is located in a collection other offices in a single story outside open courtyard arrangement.
I imagine the entire property will be eventually replaced because of its age. 2. I decided to wait outside in the courtyard for about 30 minutes before I was called. I waited in the courtyard because there was no social distancing in his small waiting room at the front of the office. The chairs were not spaced out, and another patient was waiting in this very small area. 3.
When I was finally called, I was led into his "office" which appeared to me to be a large closet use as an "office". He asked me if I wanted to keep the door open and I said yes, because of COVID. However, when he was looking at the notes, his mask repeatedly came off, and so I decided to get up and wait outside. I came back in asked him politely to make sure he keeps his mask on, he made the adjustment, but then told me it was difficult to wear the mask because his glasses became fogged.
In all fairness however he did apologize for having the mask come off his face. 4. Next, he addressed me by my wrong name. I corrected him, but five minutes later he again addressed me with my wrong name. 5. My impression was that Dr. Karr would not listen to me about the problems I was having and the history of the problems with my back, but only insisted on looking at the records I brought along with the MRI disc images.
He told me that the records in my MRI report were incomplete, poorly done, and that he would have to call Cedars to get clarification. I asked him what about if the person who wrote report was no longer there (likely possibility), he said he could then speak to someone else for clarification of the details, but I felt this was suspect. 6. given that his belief that my records and report were incomplete, I feel he should have at least taken the time to look at the the disk images of the MRI I brought on the CD, as instructed. However, Dr. Karr told me he did not have time to do this, because he was very busy.
This was a total turnoff! 7. in general, I feel his general attitude towards me was rushed, particularly given that I was a potential new client seeking help. I found his demeanor "rough" and lacking compassion during the 10 minute interaction I had with him in his closet type "office". 8. I wanted to discuss my problems from my perspective, but he did not seem to want to take the time to listen.
He gave me the excuse that he could not take my word because of possibly getting sued. this led me to the belief that he has been sued before. 8. He then told me to go into another room so that he could examine me, but I decided to leave, went to the front desk and told his assistant behind the desk how I felt and why I was leaving. 9. The next day, he called and asked me if I was seeking a new order for an MRI.
I felt this was just an excuse to call, and I told him I did not know what he was talking about. He then immediately wanted to know why I left. I would not answer his query. Instead, I hung up. 10. Next, I let the readers of my review know that Dr. Karr's appearance was rather grotty. He was wearing a white coat, with what appeared to be worn blue jeans, with ragged white tennis shoes with no socks.
I did not feel that he was dressed appropriately. Moreover, his appearance on his website differs from how he appears in-person. On his website, he appears as a clean-shaven, rather young man but when I met him he was bearded, appeared much older and he appeared overweight. 11. I wanted to consult with Dr. Karr because he was close and because of favorable ratings from others. I find it difficult to believe that I am the only person who has had negative experiences with this chiropractor.

Dr Karr I feel saved my life, certainly the quality of it. After months of unsuccessful treatments from other Chiropractic Offices, Acupuncture, and Therapy I was in Dire Straits from my Disc Herniations. In a month of Treatment with Dr Karr I was feeling so much better. In three months I was feeling like I had my life back free of pain. Cannot recommend him highly enough

I had chronic back pain for literally over 25 years. After my wife and I recently had kids, the strain of constantly picking them up exacerbated the pain to the point where it was not bearable without being on medication. I tried physical therapy, which didn't help, and then got two epidural injections. It was looking more and more like I would have to have surgery.
I heard about spinal decompression treatment and decided to try it out as a last ditch resort. Due to the persistence, care, and treatment provided by Doctors Karr and Ortiz, a little over two months later, I am now virtually pain free. I am not only extremely pleased by the results of the treatment, but also by the commitment and perseverance the doctors exhibited while getting me to where I am at today.
I was treated with genuine care and concern for my health and well-being. My goal of being pain free was a shared one by the doctors who worked hard to achieve it. I cannot thank these doctors enough for allowing me to feel the best I have in years.

I've been seeing a Chiropractor regularly for the last 20 years of my dental career, I'm a hygienist. I just moved back to Los Angeles after being gone for 13 years and needed a new Chiropractor that was near my new home and work. I found West Los Angeles Chiropractic online and was not disappointed. At the time I found Dr. Karr and Dr. Ortiz I had been overwork and was experiencing a lot back pain.
They had an option of unlimited visits for a month and so I opted for that since I did not have insurance. It was awesome to be able to get adjustments throughout the week, anytime I wanted to. After the third week, my back pain started resolving and was able to resume my regular activities, rock climbing, yoga, hiking. At the moment I am able to come about once a week for maintenance adjustments. I am grateful I found them and would recommend anyone on the Westside looking for a Chiropractic care to check them out.

West Coast chiropractor has been one of the greatest encounters of my life. I was having back pain and I came to visit Dr. Karr. Upon x-rays he saw were my hip was out of lined and I had three bulging this; my L1, L3, and L5 were all bulged. Inside of two weeks I am no longer on pain pills, and my back pain is down to a minimal. I have two more months of treatment, but I am feeling better than I have felt in a long time! Dr. Karr, takes a personal interest in every client, I have seen him deal with everyone on a personal and intimate level.
He has share things with me that has been helpful outside of the office, just some good life decisions on how to maintain my health and a multiplicity of areas. The staff at West Coast chiropractor is second to none, you are treated with the utmost care. I encourage anyone who is having back pain, muscle pain, joint pain to visit West Coast chiropractor; you will be glad you did! Henry L. Brown, D.Min

Both Dr. Karr and Dr. Ortiz are great. I threw out my back a couple years ago playing soccer and an MRI showed I had a protruding L5/S1 disc that was pinching the nerve going down the back of my left leg. Extremely painful. Through using the decompression machine along with the adjustments has made a huge difference! Highly recommend.

They say they take medicare insurance. they never told us that they charge our credit card for initial consultation and other services that the insurance doesn't cover. When I was signing the paperwork I saw one page about Finance and I asked them. That is when I found out. My mom have gone to other chiropractors who accept Medicare and she did not have to pay anything including massages.
I have a problem with them not telling us about the charges before the visit. Had I not asked about it we would have seen the doctor and would have had to pay for who knows how much $.

So I've been to this office several times over the year and other's when I travel and I must say, they don't make CHIROPRACTOR'S like Dr. Karr anymore. He very considerate and knowledgeable. I've never felt rushed and or over looked. I'm a very active person and a friend of mine from the Griffin Club referred me to West Los Angeles Chiropractic many years ago after a tennis injury. I've had nothing but excellent treatment from Dr. Karr and have always felt ready to go back and compete at a high level.
He treats athletes, so he knows what's needed and also adjusts extremities, which most chiropractors don't or don't do well. I now see Dr. Karr fairly regularly when I'm in town. I had radiation down my leg years ago and he was the only doctor that thought of sending me out for an MRI. The MRI showed I had a disc bulge. Dr. Karr suggested I use the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression and I did and it helped me.
I recommend everyone who's dealing with sciatica and or thinking of surgery, at least talk to Dr. Karr first and perhaps give the DRX Spinal Decompression and try. Recently I came in for a wrist issue and I was issued a wrist support for $5.00 and he adjusted my wrist and it now feels amazing. Who knew. I'm always learning more about what can be adjusted and chiropractic care.
I feel I'm ready for some serious USTA matches thanks to everyone at West LA Chiropractic. It's taken me so long to write this, but I have so much appreciation to them for keeping me off the meds.

First in for most I've been to a lot of chiropractors over the years and this has been by far my favorite one so far I'm 28 years old and I am stiffer than most but after visiting this chiropractor and Dr. Michael Karr I feel better than ever I feel like I'm 20 years old again. All of the staff and especially the doctor here goes above and beyond to make sure the diagnosis and care is accurate and beneficial. Very pleased with this practice

You've just found what you were looking for. I was in a car accident last fall and was not only suffering from bodily injuries but also felt off balance in all areas of my life. Fortunately a coworker suggested giving Dr. Karr a call and I'm so glad that I did. Not only was he (and his staff) incredibly knowledgeable, they were also very in tune with the effects an accident can have on the body and mind.
As they guided me through my recovery they were flexible, patient and always available. I now feel better than I did before my accident - I'm basically Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson now - and will continue to visit the office for regular tune-ups. If you're in need of help post accident, or just want to improve the overall quality of your life, look no further than West LA Chiropractic.

Don't go to this guy. He's not great at what he does and he'll try to sell you whatever he can. First consultation $50 might look appealing but from there it goes down south. I'm not gonna go into detail, bottom line he wants your money, not your well being. There are so many other great chiropractors in this town, save your time and money.

I met Dr. Karr and it was a few weeks ago. In the past I have had a horrible experience with chiropractics but since I was recommended here, I decided to give it a shot. From the beginning the office had great communication and easy to work with my insurance taking a 20 dollar co pay. Since they do in office x rays it saves so much time and I love that. All the equipment was modern and they had the experise to use them the right way. Hands down amazing, so happy I found them. Thank you Dr. Karr!

So I've been a patient here for over a month and have noticed changes that were unexpected in other areas then what I came in for. My neck was giving issues and was in the habit of taking ibuprofen from time to time to deal with it, but s friend highly suggested I see Dr. Karr. My first visit was very detailed. I entered into the computer my symptoms and then Dr. Karr sat with me and discussed everything that I was feeling.
Then his associate did an exam that was again, very detailed, and then suggested we take X-rays. We did treatment and the adjust, which was very comfortable. I felt very safe and happy that so much attention and time was given to me and my concerns. The next visit the doctors discussed the findings and I asked questions and we went back and forth with each other.
I never felt rushed and my questions were answered clearly. I decided to move forward with their treatment plan and after a month my neck feels great and even my lower back, which wasn't even a concern, but I just feel less tension and have greater movement now. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do get busy with unexpected emergencies, as what happen when I was there, but I understand.
This is a first class office with a very caring staff. The doctors are very knowledgeable and they use all modern equipment. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have them over looking after me when I need them. They also gave me my digital X-rays, which I keep in my iPhone, in case I'm ever away and need to see another chiropractor temporarily.

The people are friendly enough, but they have no office skills and not much common sense it seems. Pretty good location but they don't validate for visitor parking. I like their check-in system; the computer is inside a small room with a door which offers some privacy. I started feeling neck strain last week, and looked carefully on Yelp for nearby practices before deciding to come here. Made an appointment for last Thursday at 3:30 but didn't get seen until almost 4:30. Dr. Ortiz is the slowest typist I've ever seen in my life but he was easy to talk to.
He did an assessment, took an x-ray of my neck area, used a muscle relaxation tool on me, then did an adjustment. He said I'll be getting an email with stretching instructions but I never got one. I had a follow up appointment for today at 5:00 pm to review the x-ray and to receive care if needed. From 4:39 to 4:54 pm, I got calls from the office.
I RECEIVED 6 CALLS FROM THEM WITHIN THE SPAN OF 15 MINUTES. A voicemail was FINALLY left on the 6th call, stating that they're wanting to know if I'm still coming, and if not that's fine but they would like to leave early. Why didn't they just leave a voicemail during the first time? After that I got a 7th call attempt. I called back letting them know that I won't be coming or rescheduling.
They close at 6:00 so they still got to leave pretty early. It was so packed and overlapped with appointments during my last visit, and now all of a sudden they're so free to wait around and call patients over and over again? Seriously this unprofessional and strange behavior and lack of judgment are enough to make me never go back or recommend to anyone.

I feel extremely well taken care of by Dr. Karr and Dr. Ortiz. They are exactly the kind of doctors of Chiropractic that I was looking for to provide care for me during my pregnancy. They have also helped my husband greatly with a lot of issues we were not aware of as well. I can honestly say I see a great improvement in his posture and overall health. The adjustments are some of the best we have had and the office is run very smoothly. I highly recommend this place for chiropractic care!

My name is Janet and I am fortunate enough to know Michael as a friend, as well as a patient! I live in Orange County and have yet to meet a local chiropractor that gives me the instant gratification with results from his work. I look forward to my visits up to LA when I have the opportunity to see him. Dr. Karr is very in tune with your body and needs.
He handles you with care and I find myself very relaxed after treatment. I practice Yoga, I am in the Real Estate Business and I am a single Mom. My lifestyle can be very hectic at times.when I leave Dr. Karr, the sensation feels as if "I am floating".I highly recommend Dr. Michael Karr!

I can't say enough great things about Dr Karr. He treated me after a car accident and it was such a good experience from start to finish. He has his own digital X-Ray machine so that was easy. A treatment plan is usually time consuming and frustrating but Dr Karr got me in and out of the office and I never had to sit and wait in the waiting room wasting time with my busy schedule.
There's A high tech decompression machine that was actually relaxing. You watch a movie while it slowly decompresses your spine. My husband also started going to Dr. Karr for injuries sustained while professionally bodybuilding. He started feeling better almost immediately. He went to the Massage Therapist in the office and said the massages were better than a high end spa. The best thing about Dr. Karr is that he always has a big smile on his face and is genuinely happy to make you feel better. I highly recommend him.

Best Los Angeles Chiropractor hands down. Yes I said that. The staff here is very kind and caring. I always feel they take my concerns seriously and Betty and Vanessa are always big helps when it comes to my insurance needs. Friday and Saturdays are really the best days for me to come in and it's really convenient parking here and getting to this place.
They are on the ground floor with a beautiful atrium in front of their suite. The office has all these cool things going on and it's all high tech. Dr. Karr had me take pictures of my x-rays on the cell phone while he was giving me my report of findings, which by the way, was very clear and easy to understand. This is a very feel good place that my pains responded to quickly. I trust this office and am happy to write this review recommending them

Dr. Karr has a well run office and a wonderful staff to compliment the excellent care they offer. The front desk to terrific and they handle everything for me. All insurance matters usually is done by them and I only owe $10 each visit. Lucky to have found this office. West LA Chiropractic also handled my personal injury case and was very pleased with the out come. They helped me find an attorney that was very helpful.
