Sitting. Lifting. Bending. Walking. We often take these simple movements for granted until something like lower back pain happens to make them painful or even impossible. Lower back ache is the second most common reason people visit their doctor and the second most common reason people miss work. In fact, it is estimated that 85 percent of us will have lower back pain at some point in our lives, and 15 percent of people have lower back pain right now. The number of people with back pain and chronic back pain is climbing at an astounding rate every year.
Low back problems, which can result in pain and numbness in the low back, buttock, hips, legs and feet, can be caused by several factors. The most common factors contributing to low back pain include herniated or bulging discs, subluxations, degenerating discs or arthritis.
The DRS system is a highly effective, non-surgical form of disc decompression therapy, which has been shown to offer back pain relief in nearly nine out of 10 patients. The DRS system, which was approved by the FDA in the mid-1990s, uses a traction device to remove pressure from the discs and joints in the lower back. The DRS system has also been found to be an effective alternative to spinal surgery.

Wonderful practice. I've been seeing Dr Dechant and his staff since October for increasingly severe vertigo. All the other specialists I've seen over the years have been no help but this team created a treatment plan with massage, bodywork, adjustments and PT that has allowed me to at least get temporary relief. I always leave feeling a million times better than when I walked in.
They are also warm, friendly, and accommodating, and I have never had a medical practice explain my insurance benefits to me as clearly as this place. As a result, I'm never surprised by the bill and I'm able to plan financially for my care. I definitely recommend them!

Real warm and welcoming atmosphere with a knowledgeable staff all around. I threw my back out and needed help right away. They got me in quick for X-rays and rehabilitation. They offer multiple services. Physical therapy, massage, chiropractic, electric stimulus, roller bed, and have some cool technology. Ask about their DNR machine :. They've been very accommodating with my schedule and insurance and I will continue to use their services for the foreseeable future. Thanks team!

I can't say enough great things about ALL the staff at Better Health! They do it all from adjustments to physical rehab to massage and provide thorough and individualized treatment and they figured things out with my difficult insurance company. They also provided my physical therapy after my broken ankle surgery. My neck feels a lot better and they help keep it that way!

I started going here when my sciatica was almost crippling in it's intensity. After a couple sessions, I was much improved and able to function normally again. About four years ago, after going through a succession of chiropractors for my lower back problems, I finally stumbled upon Better Health. I've had back pain for the longest time now and I've always just lived with it. When I decided to go to Better Health it was a great investment in myself. Dr. DeChant and the team there are very professional yet kind and welcoming. I come in weekly to a combination of massage therapy, physiotherapy, and chiropractic therapy. It really does feel like it lightens a heavy burden that's been on your shoulders. Everything is pretty relaxing and just feels good. I just want to thank the Better Health team on giving me great care.

I went in with primarily lower back pain that had been pestering me for about a year. They took x-rays of my lower back, and found that I had an old back injury that didn't heal properly. They put me through some physical therapy and realignment. Now after about 3 months, I can move around and live my life again. Lifting things, touching my toes, and even sleep are easy again. I really recommend this chiropractic office, and the staff there are amazing.

My lower back went out and I had heard great things about Better Health & Wellness so I called them. From the very beginning they were so helpful. The office manager worked me in the same day I called. The whole staff is amazing. They make you feel very comfortable and genuinely want to help you. I was impressed with the privacy. After my first visit I already felt better. Dr. McCarty explained the process of treatment and the massage therapist and physical therapist are great! I have been to many chiropractic offices and this is by far the best experience I have had!

I am grateful to have found Better Health. I had a back injury while on vacation and had to fly 15 hours home on some mild pain killers. By the time I got back to Alaska, my sciatic nerve was severely aggravated. Other physical rehab places required a doctor's referral and were at least 48 hours out to see me. Better Health got me in for a consultation the next day. The staff is friendly and helpful.

My doctor told me that I finally needed back surgery, and needed a laminetomy for a popped and degenerated disk. 23+ years working on the slope did a number on my low back. I didn't want to have the surgery, but I knew I probably would need to. I saw the DRS commercial and a buddy at work had also mentioned the DSR. I wasn't aware that they had both chiropractors and physical therapists there.
They told me everything that my insurance would cover and not cover up front and worked out the $ for me. I didn't need to get surgery, it's been 10 months now since I did therapy. Back fishing and hunting this season. Highly recommend to if you want to get out of low back surgery.

I heard about Better Health from a friend and decided to go when I finally couldn't do the housekeeping and grocery shopping anymore. My back pain had been acting up for years. I found the chiropractor, Dr Vito, to be very friendly and honest. He spent a lot of time getting to know me and understanding my problem. After he found out what was going on they did the chiropractic therapy and I saw a physical therapist (as far as I'm aware they are the only one's that do this) After just a couple weeks my back was feeling better than I had in years. If you want someone who listens, values you and your opinions, this is the place to go.

Dr.Vito and the staff are amazing! I feel better than I have in years. Dr.Vito takes the time to truly address issues and walk you through the treatment process. The office is warm and inviting. The wait to be seen is never more than a few minutes, and in those few minutes there is water and massage chairs for your comfort. Best doctor experience I've had to date!

I hurt my lower back several weeks ago and was in a great deal of pain. I could not tie my shoes without bringing tears to my eyes. The clinic was able to get me an appointment the day I called. They diagnosed the problem and gave me a rehabilitation plan the next day. Within a week I could bend over and tie my shoes with no tears (it still hurt, but the pain level was greatly diminished).
The staff have been great. They are professional, friendly and show genuine concern for my recovery. There have been no issues with billing both my primary and secondary insurance companies. Highly recommended.

After over-involvement with athletic activities coupled with not paying attention to cervical spine health, as well as poor computer/iPhone posture, I injured my neck. Dr. Vito et. al. were instrumental in helping me convalesce with efficiency, quality, integrity and great support. Dr. Vito has been amazing to both myself and my wife. She has been going to Better Health for a few years now and started just over a month ago. My back had been hurting because I work at a desk and have played contact sports my entire life. Since I have been going to Dr. Vito my neck and back pain has definitely decreased between the adjustments and the massages.

I had been to a foot specialist about 7 months ago and learned that I had severe plantar fasciitis in both my feet. Most likely from the work I was doing at the time without stretching. I would wake up and be unable to walk becaus of the swelling and pain. The specialist told me that surgery was needed but they could try injections first. I decided to look for other options and thank God I did.
Better health set me up with a visit a few times a week for about a month doing adjustments and massaging the effected areas and by the time I have two visits under my belt I was doing better with no swelling and pain went way down. I'm so grateful as my wife and I just took a trip to Seattle and walked long miles to explore the city and woke up the next day with zero pain.

Wonderful experience with south side location. Dr Vito is great and all the technicians there are super nice. Plus best customer service out of any doctors office I've ever been to- they worked with my insurance to make sure I got the help I needed and when my insurance was billing me incorrectly they made sure that it was corrected.

A knee injury that lead to other alignment issues brought me to Dr. Vito. He wrote a treatment plan for me including therapeutic massage, ultrasounds, heat therapy, adjustments and later on physical rehab. After a month or so I'm feeling a lot stronger with no pain in my knee. He is very personable and cares about his patients. The rest of the staff is welcoming, friendly, and professional as well. I highly recommend this office!
