Our expert staff of doctors of chiropractic, and licensed massage therapists make improving your whole health our business from the inside out. Jason is a native of North Carolina. He graduated from North Caroline State University with BS in Agronomy. After graduating and before attending chiropractic school, he wored for the Soil and Water Conservation district in Warren County, NC.
It involves the insertion of very thin needles (about the width of a hair) into specific points in invisible pathways (meridians) throughout the body to balance your body's energy or qi (pronounced chee). By re-balancing your body's qi, we can help to reduce pain and other conditions caused by the imbalance.
Our massage therapists are licensed through the Virginia Board of Nursing. They offer a variety of techniques to help get you feeling better. Massage is a combination of rubbing, applying pressure or manipulating the muscles, ligaments, and tendons to reduce muscle tightness or "knots" and to help reduce pain in those areas.
Abbott Family Chiropractic is concerned with our patient's whole bodies. Many of our patients live a busy lifestyle with work, family and friends. They eat what is considered the average American diet with large amounts of refined and processed foods (some of which has limited nutritional value). We find most patients aren't able to eat enough fresh foods that are naturally high in nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients to help maintain health.Adding supplements to their diet can be beneficial and bridge this nutritional gap.

I have had occasional appointments with Dr. Conklyn for several years now due to intermittent back and neck pain. Many years ago, I had been referred to physical therapy for a herniated disc in my back. However, despite learning stretching exercises and receiving PT treatment, the back pain did not subside. Upon beginning chiropractic care with Dr. Conklyn, I immediately felt relief in my back after just a few short visits. Occasionally, I will still have a flare-up of pain in my back or neck, and then I know that it is time to make an appointment. Dr. Conklyn takes the time to listen to your specific issue(s), and then tailors the chiropractic care to relieve the pain that you are experiencing. I can't recommend her or this office enough! Thank you for the pain relief!
