Services
Discs are the soft, but strong, cushions that separate the vertebrae in the spine and act like shock absorbers as your body moves. Repeated strain over time, vertebral subluxation, or sudden injury can damage discs and irritate (See diagrams to the right) nerves, causing pain and numbness or tingling in the back, legs, neck and arms.
Mid back pain often occurs from spinal misalignments in the thoracic region of the spine. Mid back pain may be the result of improper lifting, over-exertion, trauma or poor posture. Pain from the mid back can radiate to the chest area and, at times, even cause difficulty breathing. Chiropractic spinal adjustments can help restore proper spinal alignment and relieve pain those associated symptoms.
Sciatica is a term that refers to the painful inflammation of the sciatic nerve that extends from your buttocks all the way down to your toes. Sciatica sufferers often have a history of low back pain. There can be several causes of sciatic nerve irritation that include strain/sprain injuries of the lower back, disc problems in the low back, sacroiliac joint problems, poor posture, obesity or other internal diseases.
Weather you are a trained athlete, weekend warrior, orsimply enjoy leisure sports from time to time, the physical activity performed playing these sports can causes prain/strain injuries and spinal imbalances. Theone-sided motions from an occasional game of golf ortennis can cause the spinal column to lose its natural balance.

I have been a patient of Dr. Berney's for over 10 years now. He is an excellent doctor! Not only is he a wonderful chiropractor, but he gets to know each patient and cares about each of us as if we were his own family. I can't tell you what a lifesaver he has been all these years, especially after I was in a car accident. Dr. Berney gives perfect adjustments.

Dr "Bob" is the best chiropractor ever. I've been going to him for years off and on for related issues. He takes the time to listen to your issues and makes excellent suggestions that even laymen could understand. He is funny, personable and so knowledgeable, I travel from Holbrook to Smithtown to see him. I've recommended him to many who love him just as well.
And what other dr will call you to check up on you. Dr Bob does. He truly cares about his patients. He will sit with you and explain issues that make it easy to learn to help yourself and to see what you are doing wrong. I lost my job and have new insurance which he doesnt take and I still choose to go to Dr Bob rather than any local chiro. I wont let anyone else touch me. Well, maybe his massage therapists which happen to be awesome as well. If you need a chiro, he is your man. I love Dr Bob.

Absolutely love this office! Everyone I have interacted with is kind and genuinely wants you to feel better. I was always skeptical about chiropractors but I feel so much better after each session. Dr. B is great! Listens to everything you have to say and comes up with a plan to treat but not over treat. Also highly recommend the medical massage.

I first starting seeing Dr. Bob 6 years ago during pregnancy. When I began having pregnancy sciatic pain, he was a lifesaver! So much so, that I make visits to him part of my regular self care. He is knowledgeable, always available for an emergency, and treats me as part of his family. His office staff is always welcoming and kind. I highly recommend his practice.

Before coming to Dr. Berney for my thoracic disc problems, I have been to get treatment and looked at by other Doctors and practices. I was at the end of the road and contemplating surgery. Within the first visit Dr. Berney located the problem area and made an adjustment. I have been suffering from upper back problems for over 10 years and within a few visits, I was feeling relief.
I have been going to Dr. Berney for the past 5 years and will continue to go to him. He also has helped me alleviate neck problems and vertigo. I would absolutely recommend him for chiropractic needs. He has a great bedside manner and when I am having a really bad day with my back, he makes check up calls/texts the next day after a visit to see how I am feeling. The staff could not be nicer, his office hours are great and making appointments is easy.
