Dr. Canova is hands-down the best chiropractor I've encountered, with tremendous knowledge of the intersection of spine and joint health and medical well-being. I suffer from a degenerated lumbar disc (L5/S1) and cervical stenosis (C4-5, C6-7). I first saw Dr. Canova in 1997 for a herniated L5/S1, again in 2007 for a herniated L4-5, and I see him currently for my lumbar and cervical conditions.
He's been a fixture in Hoboken for 30+ years and a big help to me. To my knowledge, he was among the first practitioners to adopt computer-driven spinal decompression in the Tri-State area in the early-2000s. He's constantly educating himself on emerging science with a healthy skepticism. Lots of chiropractors can "crack your back", you're in/out in a few minutes and frankly, if you have a simple issue, this might be ok for you.
But if you have more complex and durable challenges, as I do, you likely need the "real deal" and that means Dr. Canova. The office manager, Carol, is a very pleasant lady and runs a tight ship since patients there need real help. I occasionally rib her and call her "Commander Carol". The therapeutic assistant, Darwin, is also very pleasant and is on your case like a bloodhound. Dr. Canova has consistently helped me even where other chiropractors have failed. He's smart and very personable, and if you need real help, he's your man.

I've been suffering with herniated discs in my neck for a years. Ive tried different types of therapy by trying to avoid surgery. I came across an advertisement online and decided to see what Dr. Carnova had to say. Well after our 1st meeting, I felt confident, within the 1st few sessions that nagging pain & stiffness has completely diminished. Im grateful for Dr. Carnova, Darwin & Last but not least Carol. So if your in pain & hesitant dont be. get proactive and make an appointment!

I have been going to Hoboken Integrated Healthcare for 8 months, and I give it my highest recommendation. Before going here, I had profound low-back stiffness for 2.5 years that literally never eased up and limited my mobility. I had gone to several back specialists, and none of them really knew what to do about it. Dr. Canova has been working with me tirelessly, going way above and beyond to try to determine the cause of my mysterious stiffness, and through various treatments and exercises, always carefully tailor-made for my specific needs, has gradually brought back significant mobility.
Along the way, he also completely fixed a separate, painful hip problem I had been having for months! And he takes an active interest in my overall health: my diet, exercise, and general physical well-being. He has been a godsend to me! Even though he's not a "primary care physician, " well, I don't care--I consider him "my doctor." His assistant Darwin is great, too.
He's always concerned about how I'm feeling on any given day, is very accommodating of my needs, and is reliably there to motivate me when I'm doing my exercises. He's very quick about prepping me for various treatments and is constantly checking in to see how I'm doing. And Carol at the front desk is fabulous! She is so personable and attentive to any needs or concerns you may have.
And let me tell you, when it comes to getting stuff done, like dealing with your insurance company, or scheduling your MRI at the least possible cost, she is on the ball. She will make it happen and she stays two steps ahead of everyone! So yeah, this place is awesome. I will most definitely keep coming.

Can't say enough about Dr. Canova and his team at Hoboken Integrated Healthcare! Before coming here, I received 3 cortisone shots to help alleviate the pain for my disc herniation in L5-S1 area. I was fearing the worst before being introduced to Dr. Canova and spinal decompression therapy. After 15 sessions with the doctor and some work on my own, I am now pain free and couldn't be happier!
Thank you as well to my man Darwin with the assistance working on my back, along with Carol always been able to accommodate my busy schedule. If you're in lower back pain, this is definitely the place to treat it!

I can't say enough great things about this place - the team at Hoboken Integrated Healthcare go above and beyond to make sure your experience is nothing less than great. Dr. Joe Canova is really the best out there for helping you with anything related to physical therapy, chiropractic, sports therapy, or pain management. He helped me identify what exactly was going on as the root of pain I had experienced for as long as I can remember and didn't provide a quick-fix but instead a long-term solution. Thanks for all you guys do for me!

Couldn't ask for better service and treatment! I went in barely being able to walk and wound up leaving feeling back to 100%. Dr. Canova took time to explain my situation (3 herniated disks at 26) and walked through his recommendations on a plan moving forward and made sure I understood everything. Each visit, him and his wonderful staff (Carol and Darwin) made sure I was in the most comfort and would adjust anything according to the plan if needed.
I wound up having to move out of state mid treatment and Dr. C, Carol, and Darwin made sure that they helped me find a new spot that was up to their standards and that fit our game plan. 10/10 for anyone, but would highly recommend to any athlete looking for the right fit.

Dr. Canova does a great job in tackling the source of the problem and fixing it. I appreciated how he is interested in all aspects of a patients health (diet, exercise, goals, etc.) and is passionate about continuing to further his own knowledge. Darwin is excellent and keeps careful track of his patients progress. I never thought I would enjoy going to the doctors, but I look forward to seeing Dr. Canova, Darwin, and Carol each time.

Since day 1 of coming to Hoboken Integrated Healthcare, the staff and especially Dr. Canova have went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and satisfied with the treatment they provide. It's rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient with outstanding quality of medical care. I work extremely longs hours throughout the week and spend all of those hours standing up.
On top of that I recently got into a car accident that has created a lot of tension in my neck and back. Dr. Canova has not only helped relieve that tension but tells me why I may feel that tension in detail. Every session I attend relieves my pain little by little and I don't know what I would do without him. Carol, the office manager, is great as well in being patient if I'm late to my appointment and if an emergency comes up, she's able to reschedule me right away. Darwin helps with my PT and I would trust him with my life because he makes me feel that comfortable. Would absolutely recommend this office to anyone

I started going to Hoboken Integrated Healthcare many, many years ago when Dr. Canova was just starting out on Washington Street in Hoboken. I remember that Dr. Canova and his staff were personable, professional, knowledgeable, efficient and caring. I can tell you that even after all these years, my experience is still the same. I'm still a happy and healthy customer.
Being a performer, I've periodically needed adjustments for my neck, shoulders and back. I can honestly tell you that Dr. Canova and his insight had a lot to do with saving my career. I don't really write reviews much but in this case, I find that I must share the good news with others. If you're on the fence, give Dr. Canova and the Hoboken Integrated Healthcare staff a try.
