A REAL chiropractor, who doesn't cure anyone, who'll tell you that pain relief is just a nice side effect. Dr. Harte works for you, not some insurance company. Perhaps you've been to a multitude of medical doctors, but didn't get the answers you needed. You may have been through years of medication and surgeries that just maintained your condition, but never got you well.
Or maybe you've gone to a succession of chiropractors but they never examined you, took X-rays or provided you with a care plan. Perhaps they focused on using more ancillary services such as electric stimulation or cold laser, versus real hands-on chiropractic.

You benefit from my experience in practice, since 1981, with ongoing, seminars, dipping into the books, formulating new strategies, etc. The process never stops! Before we get into the special benefits of the Harte Method, I should make clear what any chiropractic technique should be about.
Shouldn't you expect the highest level of ethical behavior from anyone to whom you entrust your health? How often do you get it? When you go to The Doctor, don't you think that their recommendations are skewed one way (as opposed to what's best for you), by what will be covered by your insurance plan, and another way (as opposed to what's best for you), by which pharmaceutical company sent the sexiest sales representative or offered the best vacation to Tahiti, or box seats at the 49'ers, if "x" number of their prescriptions were written?

I considered myself 'healthy' yet saw Dr. Harte for prophylactic reasons. Dr. Harte did a full examination including balance and flexibility tests as well as X-rays and what he showed me was eye-opening. Yes, I am 'healthy, ' but that is a relative term. Although I am not (yet) showing symptoms of an 'unhealthy' person, Dr. Harte showed me conditions that eventually would deteriorate to the point they would negatively impact my ability to enjoy life so I became a member of his practice.
One thing I discovered quickly is his practice is different in a good way. Dr. Harte is willing to take time to explain things in detail, he doesn't promise miracle cures, and he encourages his clients to talk with one another. and what I learned from the other clients was eye-opening. The adjustments Dr. Harte makes to one's body don't only address joint pain, they alleviated one client's migraines, another person's severe allergies, and a third person's depression.
About COVID, it is true Dr. Harte is not vaccinated and doesn't wear a mask, however, so are the vast majority of humans on this planet and yet you don't read about bodies piling up in the streets of Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South America, or Indonesia. Meanwhile, Dr. Fauci has admitted the types of masks most people wear reduce the probability of contracting COVID only by 1% to 2%.
More to the point, if Dr. Harte were to become sick with any form of communicable disease, he would cancel his appointments and stay home just as any considerate person would do if he or she became sick. Looking at the one-star reviews other people have left on Yelp, I am amazed that people have rated him despite never having become a client and seen if he could help them. and I have found the comments about Dr. Harte being unprofessional, grouchy, etc. to be completely untrue.
I am not claiming Dr. Harte can help everyone, but the clients with whom I spoke had sought help from Western Medicine doctors for years with no relief and Dr. Harte has proved to be a miracle to them. Consequently, if you are suffering from a condition that Western Medicine doctors have been unable to relieve, I encourage you to keep an open mind, become a client, and, after a reasonable amount of time, decide for yourself if you are seeing improvement.

I went in to see Dr. Harte after my mother and father had been to see him. I suffer from osteoarthritis, constipation, depression and digestive upset. It has only been one week but already I am pooping naturally (which for me is a miracle!), my arthritis pain in my right hand is greatly reduced and my neck pain is gone! It is absolutely crazy. that the medical field is not treating spinal subluxation!
I am feeling OPTIMISTIC about my health for the first time in 25 years! I am so blessed to have become a member here :-). THANK YOU DR. HARTE FOR HELPING ME! 5 Stars all the way!

Dr. Harte is all about healthy as we can be and self-care. That's real chiropractic which allows our bodies to heal themselves from inside to outside and top down by freeing the nervous system and circulatory system from pressures due to misaligned vertebrae (i.e. subluxation). He is caring, kind, funny, and yes, outspoken (that's his prerogative, plus he's a New Yorker).
I feel safe in his office and never hear complaints, in fact, the opposite. Patients choose to wear, or not wear, masks, once through his portal. We respectfully keep our spaces, and no one has covid-19. No one seems to have colds. I started going back to his practice fall of 2019, and I have not had a cold since. I highly recommend Dr. Harte. His practices will help all kinds of issues in the body way beyond back pain. Straight forward, no gimmicks, in a positive atmosphere filled with peace, humor and great eclectic music! - Heather Andrew, Novato

Dr. Harte helped my mother and I immensely! I came in with a back injury, from a horse accident when I was a child. I had difficulty standing and sitting without back support for long periods of time. After my first few sessions I already saw improvement! Now, after about 3 months all my pain had vanished and I finally feel energized and well equipped to go about my days, pain free!
My mom also had a series of back and neck issues that made it difficult for her to go about her daily activities. She been through pain management, medications and multiply surgeries but Dr. Harte's work is the only thing that relieved the tension and numbness in her back, neck and limbs. He is professional and pricey but he's 100% worth it. He knows what he's going.

Considering there is zero scientific justification for chiropractic and the guy running this page says that pediatricians don't know what they're doing when they're actually is a lot of data to support pediatric practice, you should realize that this guy is a moron and run away. Or punch him in the nose, there's that.

I was rear ended on 2/25/19. I ended up with a severe concussion- and still dealing with severe post concussion syndrome. I went to a chiropractor I knew and thought could help. I was mistaken. He would adjust me. but wouldn't address my skull or neck issues and wouldn't look past my torso. I was recommended to Dr. Harte, as it was now ~3 months that I'd had a massive headache and couldn't walk much without being exhausted.
My brain hurt. Literally. I was getting really depressed and feeling like maybe I wouldn't get better. then I started with Dr. H. With one adjustment. I felt half my brain fog leave. I could breathe better. didn't even know that had been an issue. I am amazed how such concentrated soft touch really adjusts what is needed. Dr. Harte sincerely cares about each individual patient. passionately. it shows in his work.
He listens to you when you talk. Other chiros have told me what I need rather than listen to what I'm dealing with.and responding. I am grateful for his work and insight to the whole body. not just the anatomy of the spine. It is all interconnected. I highly recommend his work. This guy knows his stuff and can help you.

A lifetime of dealing with acute back pain and not gaining any ground after going through all the "experts" services including an X-stop implant, I decided to see Dr. Harte as my last hope. It has been three years now and I can tell you that I have never felt better. I've lost 25 pounds, cut my blood pressure pills in half, and regained my normal posture. Dr. Harte is very caring about his patients.
His methods address the spine as the health of the whole person. I used to be in my doctor's office about 15 times a year for various issues, now I see him once a year for a physical. He says I'm in the best shape that he can remember. All my blood tests are normal. I will see Dr. Harte for the rest of my days. I

I've had multiple back surgeries, the last one two years ago which included fusion at L5/S1. Around last October the sciatica the ortho said would be fixed was worse than before the surgery. I'd seen Dr Harte's ads in the IJ many times, I've lived in Marin county for almost 20 years, but always figured chiropractic could not help people who have had fusion.
But this time the ad was different or at least different from what I remembered. This time it said to not give up on chiropractic just because we've had surgery. I called and have not regretted it. I've experienced more relief over the last 9 months than I thought possible. It's not just the sciatica that is a lot more bearable. The neck pain and agonizing back pain are more manageable, sleep is better.
Quality of life is much better overall. I began with the intensive adjustment/examination schedule the previous reviewer described and am now down to two adjustments per week and we hope later this year to get down to one per week. The experience is nothing like the one star review. 'That stuff is mostly nonsense.

When I first came in my back was stiff and sore, I had several pinched nerves and five compressed discs. Using only his hands doing gentle adjustments, after 24 visits my spine is feeling wonderful. I can turn my head both ways with much more freedom of movement. Dr. Harte explained how the brain actually heals the body from the top down. He is the only doctor who has been able to heal my body.

He's the most sensible and enlightened chiropractor I've ever known. His results are sometimes instant, but improvement overall is my experience - this after years of cortisone shots in my lower spine and that area only one of many being addressed by Dr. Harte. I'm sleeping better and have more energy and less pain. His take on Vertical Subluxation makes sense, as does his no opiods or drugs approach. DO read his materials and think for yourself - the mind is a powerful tool.

I have been seeing Dr. Harte for over 25 years since first moving to California in 1995. I was in a tremendous amount of pain after years of high school football, college lacrosse and working as a carpenter. I had been to several orthopedic doctors and surgeons, had several MRIs, xrays and other tests. Been drugged in the ER several times with anti-spasmodic injections that made me feel awful.
One day I went to the Marin County Fair, and met Dr. Harte. He had a booth where he was giving free exams. So he checked out my spine and said "you should come in for xrays". I decided what the heck, what did I have to lose? I even brought my MRIs and xrays I had accumulated over the years. Dr. Harte took his own xrays, reviewed all my material and said "your back is fine!
You are just subluxated!". Uh, what? So I started going to him a few times a week. After about a month, I felt like a new man. My back pain literally disappeared. He also adjusted my jaw which was dislocated from years of teeth grinding, adjusted my wrist which was painful from carpel tunnel syndrome, my knees, my feet, and my elbows. I couldn't believe how drastic the change was. 25 years later, I still go to Dr. Harte regularly.
I live in Berkeley and tried for a few years to find a chiropractor who was closer to home, but gave up after a while. His chiropractic approach (which I like to dub "The Harte Method") is very unique, very effective and painless. He spends more time with you than most chiropractors, and, more importantly, never turns anyone away. Most chiropractors require appointments days in advance.
He has an open door policy and truly loves his work. Since my first session 25 years ago, I've engaged in extreme sports (big wall climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking etc.) and have endured some pretty horrific injuries. Dr. Harte has always kept me "in the game" so to speak. I'm about to turn 50 and still doing the things that I love to do. I rarely if ever go to a medical doctor. I like to thing its just luck and my good genes. But something tells me Dr. Harte has had something to do with it.

There are very few reasons that I regret leaving CA, but Dr Harte is definitely one of them. I have yet to find a chiropractor that has his expertise and process. The plan he created for me stopped my headaches, which I suffered from daily, and helped reduce the severity of my allergies. If he was in FL, I would be an active patient again. Even my kids miss Dr Turtle and remember his turtle adjustment table. I highly recommend him.

I have been going to Dr Harte's office for about 4 months, and am very satisfied with my decision. I came to him on the first time to seek "cure" for a very annoying shoulder pain. I received a comprehensive diagnostic of my spine and nervous system and committed to a 3-month healing program. I have a certain number of visits to make to his office each week and the schedule is flexible - he works on a walk in basis, which is extremely convenient.
Each visit lasts between 10 and 15 minutes, and Dr Harte himself gives me between 3 and 5 adjustments to my spine each time. The adjustments are subtle and gentle on the most part, and every single time I went there I have left with a very pleasant sense of well being afterwards. Dr Harte's office is a relaxed and fun environment, and he has always received me with a genuine welcoming smile and treated me with attention and respectfully.
The bulk of my program has gone already and I am now entering the Welness stage. We made interim progress evaluations. I have gained substantial flexibility in my neck and spine. My posture has gotten more upright. I have been sleeping like a baby, and my mood in general is more positive and stable. My overall well being has improved. Needless to say, the annoyance of the shoulder pain has gone as well. I enthusiastically recommend Dr Harte to anyone seeking an overall increase in well being.

I am 71 years old, and I have gone to chiropractors since I was 25, after suffering a miscarriage and back pain from a car accident. I started with Dr. Harte in 2014 and he's the best chiropractor I have ever had. He doesn't just do a cookie-cutter shoulder/knee crack, and he doesn't say "come in when you're having pain and I'll help get it relieved".
He had me come in intensely for the first year. Then we went to fewer visits but still continued to have wonderful results. He tunes into your own particular body, your own exact situation, and knows how to adjust you in a very focused, very specific way. I had hot flashes for 15 years, was on thyroid medication and medication for atrial fibrillation.
I had a pain in the bottom of my left heel that was escalating and had been under treatment from other chiropractors for two years without results. I had numbness in both my hands and forearms. I was exhausted most of the time. Under Dr. Harte's care I improved so much that I went to my MD and he agreed we needed to taper me off of my thyroid meds & my heart meds.
I am prescription free, full of energy, pain-free. The numbness is gone, and the hot flashes have been reduced significantly. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Whatever your issue is he will free your own body's built-in ability to heal itself!

After spending over 30 years in various stages of lower back pain, from occasional flare-ups to, in recent years, chronic menacing pain, I have finally found a treatment that has genuinely made a difference. I have been under Dr. Harte's care for about a year and a half, and I can now say with all honesty that my lower back pain is very often nonexistent, something I have not been able to say for very many years.
His care requires a commitment to very regular visits, beginning with 4 days a week and now at least two days a week. But like any real treatment for a serious condition, this commitment is essential. I am pleased that I do not have to resort to any invasive procedures or narcotics (I have tried both in the past with only fleeting success), just Dr. Harte's sensitive touch and accurate assessment of misalignment combined with my own regular stretching makes a world of difference.

I've been to many chiropractors in the last 30 years and Dr Harte is the best I've ever been to. He is truly passionate about each practice members continual improvement in overall health and well being. After more than 10 years with him not only is my back great, my health has improved including no more allergies after suffering every spring for more than 30 years. Amazing!
