Dr. Curtis Nelson gained his Doctor of Chiropractic qualification at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1983. When it was time to decide where to practice, he knew that Redmond was the perfect location. In this beautiful setting with our climate that's not too cold and not too hot, plus our great school systems, it was an ideal place to raise a family.

Chiropractic is a natural form of health care that helps your body function correctly. One of the most common forms of dysfunction is due to the joints of your body lacking proper mobility. As a result, you might feel pain, have muscle spasms and experienced reduced circulation. Though pain can be debilitating, it's important to note that discomfort is simply a warning sign - it is not the actual cause of your problem. When we restore motion to these joints, your body can operate as it should and you'll enjoy a higher level of health.
At Nelson Chiropractic, we have an experienced massage therapist on-site. When you get a massage at our office, it will address a specific problem, making it a therapeutic form of massage. There are areas in the body where muscles have been injured or overworked. They can be effectively addressed by the application of various pressures.

Dr. Nelson always fixes me up just right. I love that it's so easy to park and his office is on the first floor - the things matter when people need chiropractic help. Also, he is always able to squeeze me in if I happen to have a sudden flareup, even if it means they stay a bit into their lunch hour or past closing time. Additionally, he offers things to do at home and helpful exercises to feel better in the long run.
His dietary suggestions are priceless as they help reduce inflammation and facilitate healing. His holistic approach to health is remarkable as we truly are a system of systems and everything is connected. Plus, he always finds a way to uplift his patients and improve the mood.

After working with Dr. Nelson for 16 years, I know that Dr. Nelson's expertise is exceptional. He is extremely knowledgeable and empathetic. His office staff is always professional, warm, and friendly and it is a pleasure to speak with them. I can still be surprised by how very much better my 80 year old body can feel after an adjustment. I am grateful to have benefited from his treatment for over 20 years. I cannot express fully how much respect and confidence I have in his care.

Somehow for me the treatment of Dr. Nelson did not work well. I came to Dr. Nelson with back pain (due to working long hours and hunching back). I was seeing another chiropractor in Seattle but since my work location changed I started seeing Dr. Nelson. In spite of what others may tell you the Activator did not just work for me. I think what I needed more was some sort of diagnosis of my condition and exercises to improve those.
It was quite surprising to me that Dr. Nelson did not recommend me doing any exercises or stretches- even though at one point of time I told him that some exercises seem to relive my pain. He also was not really able to explain me my condition to a satisfactory level. Instead he seems to depend totally on the Activator which he seems to be using like a magic wand to touch any pain areas that you have.
What really threw me off was this: I once emailed him about severe pain and he asked me to see him that evening. He again did his activator thing on me. Since I also had an appointment the next day - I asked if I should cancel that one. But he plainly asked me to keep it. Going to the chiropractor just next day after an adjustment, seems like a bit too much. Eventually, I stopped seeing him after my condition did not seem to improve.
I went instead to a PT and with the exercises I was told my condition got tolerable in 3 days. I also did some research on muscle knots, lacrosse balls, foam rollers and exercises and stretches and my condition is much better now. For the longer term I am seeing another chiropractor who recommends me a lot of exercises to improve my overall health, posture and pain. In all, I would not recommend Dr. Nelson since I didn't get any respite from my pain while seeing him

I first saw Dr Nelson over 15 years ago. I was in a rear end accident 10 years prior to this visit and was being treated by a DO. The day I saw Dr Nelson I could barely get out of bed. After only one visit I felt better than I had in 10 years. I wished I had originally gone to Dr Nelson and not let so much time go by. I've had a few more rear end accidents over the years and they are always accommodating when I need to get in right away. The office staff is always very helpful. I feel very comfortable referring my friends to Dr Nelson. I'm pleased Dr Nelson one of my core primary care providers.

Got a recommendation from a colleague and visited Dr. Nelson. So glad I did! I know nothing about chiropractic stuff but really horked my neck and was in pain. WHY I LIKE THIS PLACE He uses an activator to gently make adjustments instead of snapping my neck like Jean-Claude Van Damme. He was able to see me on short notice (the next day!) even though I was a new patient. He is super friendly and nice. And his recep Star is nice, too. Their office always has easy parking. I mean, it's Redmond y'know.

I have an excellent experience every time I receive treatment at Nelson Chiropractic. Since I started my care in July I no longer have constant pain in my low back and neck all day long. I really enjoy Dr. Nelson's patient care, he is caring and He is genuinely interested in my heath and well being, and always ready to answer my questions. I have had Chiropractic care in the past; Dr. Nelson's activator method has been so much more effective and gentle.
