A lifelong Santa Barbara County resident, James Neary attended local Santa Barbara schools, graduating from San Marcos High School. Only after attending UCSB with a major in physiology, did he decide to pursue a degree in Chiropractic. James Neary transferred to the Prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic West (PCC-W) in San Jose, California where he graduated in 1988.

I had an undiagnosed herniated disc and he had me doing forward folding stretches, which is the opposite of what I should have been doing. I had sciatica symptoms at the time and he brushed off my concerns about a herniated disc and encouraged me to do stretches which unfortunately made it worse.

Dr. James Neary was able to treat both areas that had become problematic for me. I went to another Chiropractor and after 2-3 visits per week for 5 weeks, and failed treatment, Dr. Neary was able to massage and manipulate, and bring be all the way to 100%. He gave me homework (I have never liked that) but it reinforced the 1 x per week treatment that he did.

Within 3-4 weeks I graduated from his care! I wish he was still coming to SB, but would consider a trip to Buellton if needed! Thank you Dr. Neary! Plus, he is a delight to work with!

Such a wonderful place! My husband, children (ages 10 and 7) and I have twice a month visits for maintenance. We don't have any major aliments, but know being a regular patient will prevent major aliments. Dr. Neary is the best in town! I recommend him for people that have lived in SYV for years as well as for the people visiting, one visit or 100, meeting Dr. Neary will be one of the best things you can do for yourself!
