I was supposed to take my dad (89yos) to his doctor's appointment the other day, but the doctor called that morning to cancel because he had to self-isolate due to COVID-19. As a result, I had to cancel transportation from Goldsmith Medical the morning of an afternoon reservation time (about 6 hours in advance). Unfortunately, Goldsmith still charged me $142, the price of a one-way trip, and refused to accommodate this when I called.
I understand that it is not good to cancel a reservation on the same day, because the driver is booked ahead of the time. However, this was a situation that was out of my control. I only cancelled the reservation because the doctor cancelled on us, on the same day, for COVID reasons. When I called Goldsmith, they claimed that they were accommodating my situation already, because previous prices for late cancellation used to be a full return trip (around $285).
This was their original policy before the pandemic. However, the late cancellation prices went down to $142 for all customers because of the pandemic. So, this pricing is not something that was accommodating to my specific situation, but a change in their pricing and policy for everyone. The $142 is not cheap for my 88 year old mom, who lives on old age security from the government.
I am really disappointed with this company and the conversation that I had with them over the phone. I will never use their services again, and will never recommend them to others.

This company is very professional and the people are truly amazing. They were friendly, courtesy and respectful. They truly are a great local company that does care about your experience with them. I am glad I choose them to transport my mother. I would definitely use them again and I would recommend them.
