What a difference it has made in my life! When I came to Midtown Total Health for care I was in severe, excruciating pain. Thanks to you I have noticed great change and now feel the way I used to before my accident. What if you could stop the pain that is making you miserable without gulping down pain-killers, without invasive surgery, and without resorting to ineffective treatments..

Dr Allan Weinberg is a quack doctor. I went in for laser lipo treatment which was advertised on Groupon. When I arrived, I noticed that the office looked pretty "dumpy" and dark. That should have been my first indication of what was to come. So, my appointment was at 6pm but I didn't see "Dr. Weisberg" until 7:15pm. Upon entering his personal office, he started to talk to me about chiropractics.
He was like a car salesmen, which was a huge turn off, because he was trying to over sell his business and I was not there for those services. He spent 30 minutes in his office wasting my time talking about posture and other things and I had to remind him three times that I was there for laser lipo treatment. Sounding like a con man, he then tried to draw comparisons between the two.
He really sounded so wacky and quacky! I promise you I am not making this up. So Finally, I get "introduced" to the laser lipo machine which was behind a curtain but he quickly admits that he has it in his office only to attract people in, but using it on patients is not his specialty. Hmmm interesting. I laid on the behind behind the curtain, He then proceeded to ask me to strap on the machine myself based on which body part(s) I wished to target.
I found that interesting because I struggled to strap on the small laser devices (there were 8 devices in total) and to get it in a fixed position. So he offered no help. Then he turned the machine on but because I have probably more melanin that he's comfortable with, he actually expressed, "I don't know what level to turn the machine on since you are darker tone compared to most other people who come in here. so I'll turn it up but let me know if it burns and then I'll stop turning it".
I couldn't believe my ears. You have a machine in your office but you don't know how to use it. I should have totally walked out of the office at that point because he could have posed a health issue. So again let my better judgement, I stayed and carried on with the procedure. After 20 minutes, I was done, which I didn't feel was a long enough time, but hey, what do I know!
He then entered behind the curtain and asked me to unstrap myself. He then asked how I was and I said, I guess I'm okay, I don't feel any immediate effects. So I know that I was only doing one introductory treatment but I'm sure like most similar procedures, you probably need 8-10 sessions before you start seeing some result. He tried to sell me additional sessions. and are you ready for this part?. he told me that if I want, he can get my insurance to cover the sessions because he say that I am comin in for chiropractic services, when in actuality, I'd be coming in for laser lipo.
Yet again, I could not believe my ears! Is his guy serious? So he wants to commit insurance fraud. I quickly declined and then left! I highly recommend you stay away from this wacky, quacky, insurance fraud "doctor". His license and practice needs to be quickly investigated and shut down. He does not operate in a very ethical manner! Stay away! He is a crook and his response below is justification how wacky and quacky he is. Don't believe the lies people. I have nothing to gain from telling the truth

The MOST unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. The doctor should fire both receptionists immediately! One idiot there actually told me she didn't care how she represented the Dr's business to the public. Of coarse when I asked she her name she refused which is typical of people who act like they are 10 years old. I will never look to schedule another appointment at this location!

Absolutely horrible experience just trying to make an appointment. I was immediately put on hold for a few minutes. When the receptionist finally came back on, she mumbled something. When I asked her to repeat herself because i didn't hear her, she became extremely rude. Extremely disrespectful in how she speaks with people on the phone can only correlate to a horrible experience in the office.
I received this place as a referral from my insurance company but will never use them due to the way i was treated on the phone. Thank god I never made my way into the office!

I really thought my hiernated disc would control my life with backpain. I suffered from back pain for 5 long years. I couldn't stand the fact that I had to restrict myself from any physical activities. No more! I have been treated with DRX9000 machine under guidance of Dr. Rief. for the last month. He delivered a holistic treatment (gave adjustments that exactly pinpointed the problem areas and taught follow-up exercises to preserve the benefits from DRX9000 decompression ). I finally feel like a person who is capable. The feeling is wonderful.

I agree with Melissa F. The staff was all very friendly and professional and Dr. Rief knew exactly where to pinpoint all my hidden aches and pains. I rarely feel comfortable at a doc's office but I felt at ease here and I'm looking forward to working with Dr Rief and the staff going forward. Yes, they do x-rays on site and there is a lot of privacy.
The doctor and staff really make you feel at ease and for the first time I feel hopeful that I am on the right track to treating my back problems. I look forward to my next visit to discuss x-ray results and next steps. They are very committed to the practice and in the short time I was there I felt that they'll literally "have my back" on my road to recovery. If you're looking for a chiropractor in midtown east area look no further.

Apparently my body thinks that it's cool to do things now that it isn't actually supposed to do for another 20-30 years (or ever), like let's say, have back issues.? i'll spare the grueling details, but i "did something to my back" (that seems to be the standard way to state such problems) last week and felt like i needed to have it "snapped back into place" (or more appropriately termed, "adjusted"). my one previous chiropractor experience was with a hokey d-bag who told me that if i didn't come in for "treatment" at least 2-3x/wk for 3 months, I would be DOOOOMED! he tainted my view of chiropractic medicine, but i decided to give it one last try. anyway, i ended up seeing Dr. Rief @ Midtown Total Health and he was awesome. very down to earth, chatty, knowledgeable, and realistic with tips i could use in my day-to-day life to improve my posture, etc. the receptionist was super friendly and helpful, as was Dr. Weisberg (i think he owns the practice?) who happened to be wandering around the office during my visit. OH! and they also take their own x-rays on-site, which was convenient. overall, think of Midtown Total Health as a practice with mom-and-pop-shop charm and professional/competent clinicians. i've come to decide that more serious back issues warrant orthopedic spine docs (or just lots of Bikram yoga), but for seemingly acute issues, i prefer to see a chiropractor, and am thus stoked that I found Midtown Total Health.
